The two books that I decided had three common themes are The Hunger Games and Catching Fire which is from the book series by Suzanne Collins. The first book of this series is Hunger Games, followed by Catching Fire. The three themes that you find in both The Hunger Games and Catching Fire are loyalty, courage, and love. Those are three of the most important themes, because they play a major role in both of the books, and make people do crazy things.

In both of these books there are countless examples of loyalty, so many that it’s had to even talk about all of them. One of the best examples of loyalty in The Hunger Games is actually in the game. In the games it is complete war, but Katniss decided to put all that aside and help out Rue who was the same age as Katniss younger sister Prim. Katniss did her best to keep Rue safe and to make sure nothing bad happened to her, she also tried to shield her from all the killing that was going on. Similar to The Hunger Games, in Catching Fire Katniss also shows loyalty to Rue again. Since Rue actually got murdered in the games Katniss and Peta both decided to donate their winning from the game to the family of district 11. This did not bring back Rue but it showed that she was loyal to Rue, and their relationship was real.

There are countless examples of how anyone in both the Hunger Games and catching fire are courageous. Many people that I have talked to that read the book of The Hunger Games or saw the movie, you have no doubt that Katniss is a very courage’s person. She showed endless time, but one that stood out to me the most was when she volunteered as tribute in place of her younger sister Prim. Likewise in Catching Fire Katniss was also very courageous in many more ways. In the 75th Hunger Games Katniss actually has to go back into the games, and fight for her life and all of district 11. Katniss held herself together for the most part for her sister and mom, but she still felt the need to try in protecting them. Even though they all knew that Katniss did not have to, because they were capable of protecting themselves.

Love is such a meaningful thing that can cause a lot of heartache, but also cause great reward. In The Hunger Games it is without a doubt a reoccurring factor, with countless examples. One of the most meaningful once is when love concurred all. In the games there can be only one winner, but the “love” Katniss has for Peeta prevails. It was the first time that anyone went against President Snow, and came out on the other side in victory. Carrying on to in Catching Fire, Katniss and Peeta later realize that the fake love that they were feeling in the games may have not been so fake. They both realize that somehow, and some way they both ended up falling for each other. It was never supposed to go beyond the games.

The Hunger Games and Catching Fire are two books out of Suzanne Collins book series. These two books and/or movies have made a major impacted on the world, due the fact that they are best sellers. Also they have had so many theaters that have had sold out showed for them. There are endless amounts of themes that they both have in common, but there are just three that I picked. I picked loyalty, courage, and love, because those are three things that changed people throughout the books and movie.
